Snow Sports

Snow Sports

There is no cover under Part D: benefit 2 (overseas medical and associated expenses) for any claims arising from snow sports. For this policy, snow sports means skiing or snowboarding within the marked area of a commercial ski field.

If you meet the normal policy eligibility requirements and you are intending to ski or board on your trip, you can apply for snow sports cover which means you will be covered for medical events while participating in snow sports.

In addition to providing medical cover while skiing or boarding, snow sports cover entitles you to the following snow related inconvenience benefits*:

  • Cover for the cost of rental equipment if your gear is accidentally lost or damaged
  • Cover for stolen lift passes
  • A cash benefit payable  in the event your ski field is closed for over 48 hours due to not enough snow, too much snow or high winds.
  • A cash benefit if you cannot get to or from your ski field because of an avalanche.

*For full description of benefits, please refer to your policy wording, available to download below.
